Victoria Marathon

It took me almost 2 weeks  to write this post...not because I was disappointed but because there was too much good to say!!!!!

We  left Calgary on Wednesday morning and drove to Kelowna, BC for our first stop. Kelowna is a happening spot and I hope to visit again during the summer. The BMO Okanagan Marathon was taking place on Sunday so the marathon Vibe was evident in the city when we went out to eat that evening. So awesome!

We visited Penticton on our way back and got to see where  Subaru Ironman Canada takes place...this is on my bucket list!!! and the puppy got to do some lake swimming.

Thursday we headed to Vancouver and caught the 2pm ferry to Vancouver Island. Thursday night after settling into the Hotel Grand Pacific in Victoria we headed out to explore the city a bit.

Friday was race expo and Package pick up. it wasn't until 3pm so we explored the beautiful ocean side parks in the morning.

Race shirt and number: :)

The day before the marathon we did the bus tour of the marathon route which was great and I highly recommend this to anyone doing a marathon in a new city.  Then it was off to some relaxing at Sea Cider Farm...for some tastings...

The evening before the marathon I did not sleep. All I could think was that I would not finish due to my knee or psoa injury. but, I tried to think positive thoughts and constantly reminded myself that there was no pressure and that I had did everything I could do to prepare for this race.

Part 2......Marathon :)))))))))))))

  2. Hi Barb! Hopefully you'll get this comment so I can respond to you about spin groups and triathlon training!

My coach is Angie Anderson with Team Tri Life. She has two other coaches that are a part of the team, but I've always trained with Angie. I love her! She's so positive and supportive, plus she gets trying to balance life and training. She also runs spin classes at Bow Cycle every Tuesday night. You could definitely pop by as a drop in to see how it goes.

If that doesn't work out check out Tri It. They have spin classes pretty well all week round.
